I am a non-Christian but I was raised Catholic. I do not believe that anything is wrong with masturbation, I believe that masturbation is a healthy thing that is good for your body and soul. (Unless of course you are obsessed by it, but every obsession is unhealthy. For instance food, food is something we need to survive, it is a good and pleasant thing to take, but if you get obsessed by it then it becomes unhealthy.)Masturbation is good for the relaxation of the body, the release of tension, the bloodfow, for knowing oneself, etcetera. When I was a child, I discovered masturbation quite early in life. I was raised Catholic, and my mother was very upset about anything to do with sex (or even the body). This made me feel very guilty about myself. Guilt is of course one of the pillars of every religion, and it can have a damaging influence on your life. So, if my child would ask about masturbation, I would not discourage it. (which is different then encourage it!) Especially for teens I think it is healthy to learn how your body works. In this way you can have satisfying sexual relationships with others when the time is right. 4 years ago 2 people rated this as good Thank you for your input!
